Privacy notice for AI features

Seafolio keeps your documents on your devices and in your private iCloud. Nothing leaves your devices unless you use an AI feature. This notice explains what happens when you do.
What is sent, and to whom
When you start an AI feature, the app sends only what that feature needs to our server, which forwards it to Anthropic (the provider of the Claude AI models) to generate the answer. Before anything is sent the app asks for your permission, and it asks again before sending any image of a document.
- CVs, letters and interview prep: your rank, nationality, age, languages, document titles and expiry dates, and your sea-service record. Document numbers and your date of birth are not sent. Your name, e-mail and phone are replaced with placeholders and filled back in on our server.
- Document check: the details you typed for that one document and the text the app read from the scan on your device. Document numbers, e-mail addresses and phone numbers in that text are replaced with placeholders. Images of the scan are sent only if you choose to send them.
- Job links: our server downloads the public job page you share. It respects the site’s robots.txt and never logs in anywhere.
What is stored
There are no accounts. We do not store your documents, scans, CVs, letters or job texts. Our server keeps only what billing needs: the ID Apple gives each AI purchase, its product and how many AI actions it has left, plus counters of AI requests (the feature, time and number of AI tokens — never the content). Text of a job page you shared may be kept for up to 24 hours so free regenerations don’t download it again. Your network address is held in memory for a day to enforce free-use limits and is not written to disk.
Anthropic processes requests under its commercial terms: it does not use them to train models, and keeps them only for a limited time for safety and abuse monitoring.
Your choices
- All AI features are optional. The app works fully without them.
- You can review everything the AI writes before you use it. AI can make mistakes: always check the result against your documents.
